He experienced religion in his eleventh year, received license to preach in his nineteenth year, and in 1856 entered the [[Philadelphia]] Conference, in which he served with zeal and fidelity until his decease, Nov. 18, 1869. From childhood Mr. Ayars was characterized by an earnest, consistent, and progressive piety. He was a diligent and well- informed student, preacher, and pastor.
