In youth he was of a trifling disposition, but at the age of eighteen he was converted, and became very active in [[Christian]] labor and in visiting the sick. Mr. Armour received his education at the University of Glasgow, maintaining himself by the labor of his-own hands. In 1820 he was licensed to preach, and after a time became co-pastor of the Independent Church. In 1842 he went to Canada, organized a [[Church]] in Stewarton, Halton, and afterwards was pastor at Warwick, Plympton, Sarnia, New Durham, and Kelvin, which last he resigned in 1868.
