Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature [1]

( Ἀκιβά , but most copies Ἀχιφά , for Heb. Chakupha חֲקוּפָא ), the head of one of the families of Nethinim ( Ίερύδουλοι ,"temple-servants") that returned from the captivity ( 1 Esdras 5:31); evidently the HAKUPHA (See Hakupha) (q.v.) of the parallel lists ( Ezra 2:51;  Nehemiah 7:53).
