Fausset's Bible Dictionary [1]
An ancestor of the Gadites dwelling in Gilead and reckoned by genealogies in Jotham's days ( 1 Chronicles 5:14; 1 Chronicles 5:17). A part of the transjordanic tribes came temporarily under his dominion in the period of disorder in Israel after the death of Jeroboam II This caused his registration of the Gadites.
