Harsith . The name of a gate in Jerusalem ( Jeremiah 19:2 RV [Note: Revised Version.] ). RVm [Note: Revised Version margin.] has ‘the gate of potsherds ,’ i.e. where they were thrown out. AV [Note: Authorized Version.] , deriving the word from heres ‘sun,’ has ‘the east gate,’ AVm [Note: Authorized Version margin.] ‘the sun gate.’ This gate led into the Valley of Hinnom.
