Beeltethmus . An officer of Artaxerxes residing in Pal.,   Esther 2:16  Esther 2:16; 1Es 2:25 (LXX [Note: Septuagint.] 1E  Esther 2:15; 1E  Esther 2:21 ). It is not a proper name, but a title of Rehum, the name immediately preceding it in   Ezra 4:8 . It is a corruption of be‘çl te‘çm = ‘lord of judgment,’ and is rendered ‘ chancellor ’ by AV [Note: Authorized Version.] and RV [Note: Revised Version.] in Ezr., ‘story-writer’ in   Esther 2:17  Esther 2:17 .
