Jeremiel . The archangel who in 2Es 4:36 answers the questions of the righteous dead. AV [Note: Authorized Version.] has Uriel , the angel sent to instruct Esdras ( 2E  Esther 4:1; 2Es 5:20; 2Es 10:28 ).

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [2]

jer - ē̇ - mı̄´el (Latin Hieremihel , al. Jeremiel , "El hurls" or "El appoints"): the King James Version margin and the Revised Version (British and American) in 2 Esdras 4:36 for the King James Version "Uriel." He is here called the "archangel" who answers the questions raised by the souls of the righteous dead. He is perhaps identical with Ramiel of Apocrypha Baruch or Remiel of Eth Enoch.
