Smith's Bible Dictionary [1]

Tor'mah. Tormah occurs only in the margin of  Judges 9:31. By a few commentators, it has been conjectured that, the word was originally, the same with Arumah in  Judges 9:41. See Arumah .

Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [2]

TORMAH . In the margin of   Judges 9:31 ‘in Tormah’ is given as an alternative rendering of the Hebrew word translated ‘craftily’ (AV [Note: Authorized Version.] ‘privily’). Some commentators have suggested that Tormah is a corruption of Arumah (  Judges 9:41 ).

Fausset's Bible Dictionary [3]

Judges 9:31, margin for "privily." The Septuagint, Chaldee, and Rashi translated "secretly"; Hebrew "in deceit," as he had listened to the speech quietly with apparent assent. But Kimchi "in Tormah" a misspelling for Arumah ( Judges 9:41).

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [4]
