Chun), a [[Syrian]] city mentioned in connection with Tibhath, as one of the "cities of Hadarezer," from which [[David]] procured brass for building the [[Temple]] (1 Chronicles 18:8). In the parallel passage (2 Samuel 8:8) these two cities are called respectively [[Betah]] and BEROTHAI. It is perhaps the same with the [[Conna]] mentioned in the Itin. Antonizi as situated between [[Laodicea]] and Baalbek. The rendering of the Sept. seems to imply that instead of "from Chun" (מַכּוּן ) it had read Berod (בְּרוֹד, q. d. בָּבוּר, i.e. בָּחוּר, choice); but [[Josephus]] supports the present Heb. text (Μάχωνι, Ant. 7, 5, 3).
