<p> a [[Protestant]] theologian of Germany, was born April 19, 1791, at Baumersroda, near Freiburg. He studied at Wittenberg, and in 1812 commenced his lectures on moral philosophy there. In 1817 he was called to [[Rostock]] as professor of theology, but in the following year went to Leipsic as successor of Keil, and died January 8, 1824.
