<p> a [[Protestant]] Episcopal clergyman, was born at Boston, Massachusetts, August 27, 1797. He graduated from Harvard College in 1815, became rector at Fishkill, N.Y., in 1835, assistant at [[Trinity]] Church, Boston, in 1836, rector of Grace Church, Newark, N.J., in 1846, of Burlington College in 1853, chaplain of the United States [[Navy]] in 1855, was placed on the retired list in 1861, and died at Orange, N.J., August 12, 1884. </p>
