Jacques Couet (Lat. Covetus) <ref name="term_35111" />
<p> a French [[Reformed]] theologian, was born at [[Paris]] in 1546. Being an adherent of the Reformed Church, he had to leave his country, and on his way to [[Basle]] in 1577 held a controversy with [[Faustus]] Socinus, against whom he wrote his De Satisfactione Christi. In 1588 he was appointed pastor of the French Church at Basle, where he died, January 18, 1608.
