Jacques Bruyas <ref name="term_28188" />
<p> a French [[Jesuit]] missionary, was born in 1637. He arrived in [[Canada]] in August, 1666, and began to labor in the interests of the [[Iroquois]] missions, which he greatly strengthened by his labors. He died at Sault St. Louis, Canada, June 15, 1712. He made a thorough study of the [[Mohawk]] language, and wrote, several works on it. His Radical Words of the Mohawk [[Language]] was published in New York in 1862. </p>
