<p> Lanini (or Lanino), Bernardino </p> <p> an eminent [[Italian]] painter, was born at Vercelli about 1522, and studied under Gaudenzio Ferrari. He was much employed at [[Milan]] and Novara, where he painted the personification of The [[Deity]] in the dome of the cathedral. also several subjects from the life of the Virgin, and the picture of Our [[Saviour]] after the Flagellation, between two Angels, in San Ambrogio, at Novara.
