He graduated at the College of New [[Jersey]] in 1773; was ordained by the [[Presbytery]] of New York in 1775; preached for three years in the churches of [[Chester]] and Succasunna; became pastor in Madison, N. J., in 1779; in Danbury, Conn., in 1781; and in Rowley, Mass., a few years afterwards, where he preached until his death, in 1801. In addition to his pastoral charge at Madison, he conducted a classical school. Mr. [[Bradford]] was a man of fine literary attainments and uncommon ability. See Tuttle, Hist. of the Presb. Church in Madison, N. J. (N. Y. 1855), p. 30-33; Aikman, [[Historical]] [[Discourse]] [[Concerning]] the Presb. Church in Madison, N. J. (1876), p. 6. </p> | ||
