<p> a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born of pious parents at Amenia, N.Y. We have no means. of ascertaining the date. He was trained from childhood in ways of righteousness and devotion. At the age of fifteen he experienced conversion, afterwards received a- medical education, was licensed to preach in 1842, and in 1851 united with the Rock [[River]] Conference. In 1857 his health gave way, and obliged him-to retire from active service. He died in Channiahon, Ill.. Sept. 11, 1859. "Mr. Adams possessed a vigorous mind, reasoned clearly, and presented the truth forcibly and convincingly. As a man, his life was above reproach. See Minutes of Annual Conferences; 1859, p. 304. </p>
