( Έλωϊ v for Aramoean אלֵהִי , My God), an exclamation quoted thus by our Savior ( Mark 15:34) on the cross from Psalms 22:2 (where the Sept. has Ὁθεὀς Μου ), for the Heb. אֵלִי , which is more literally Graecized Ἠλί , ELI, by Matthew 26:46.
