Morrish Bible Dictionary [1]
A state which supplied 12,000 men to the children of Ammon to fight against David. 2 Samuel 10:6,8 . In the margin it reads 'men of TOB.' It was to 'the land of Tob' that Jephthah fled from his brethren. Judges 11:3,5 . It is supposed to be on the east of Jebel Hauran.

Ish'tob. (Men Of Tob). Apparently one of the small kingdoms or states, which formed part of the general country of Aram, named with Zobah, Rehob and Maacah. 2 Samuel 10:6; 2 Samuel 10:8.
Hawker's Poor Man's Concordance And Dictionary [3]
An inhabitant of man of Tob, a country north of mount Gilead, where Jephtha resided. (See Judges 11:3) The name is a compound of Ish, a man; and Tob, good: so that to say, an inhabitant of Tob, seems to have been proverbial for a good man.
Fausset's Bible Dictionary [4]
A petty kingdom, part of Aram ( 2 Samuel 10:6; 2 Samuel 10:8). Omitted in 1 Chronicles 19. The sense probably is "the men of Tob" ( Judges 11:3).
