( ‘ ῎Αννουος , Vulg. Amin ) , given ( 1 Esdras 8:48) as the name of one of the Levites sent to accompany the captives returning from Babylon; but it is evidently an error of the translator for וְאַתּוֹ , Veitto', "and with him," of the original text ( Ezra 8:19).
International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [3]
an´ū - us ( Ἄννουνος , Ánnounos ): Returned with Ezra from Babylon to perform the functions of a priest in Jerusalem (1 Esdras 8:48). Omitted in Ezra 8:19 .
