George The Sinner [1]

( Α῾Μαρτωλός ), a Byzantine chronicler, lived near the middle of the 9th century. He wrote a chronicle which extended from the creation down to the reign of Michael III, son of Theophilus and Theodora. This man must not be confounded with other Georges who also wrote chronicles, as George Cedrenus, George Syncellus, George of Nicomedia, and George the Monk.
