He introduced many reforms, and reorganized the schools and seminaries. Though a Jansenist, he took an active part in the controversy concerning the [[Right]] of [[Regalia]] (q.v.). He advocated the rights of the [[Church]] and of his diocese, but without success. He died Aug. 7, 1680, leaving, Traite de la [[Regale]] (Cologne, 1680), and some minor works.
