<p> a [[Baptist]] minister, was born at Moorefield, Hardy Co., Va. He graduated at Union [[College]] in 1829, and from the Newton [[Institution]] in 1832; was ordained at Newton, Sept. 20 of the same year, and went-to Ohio, where he was pastor of the [[Church]] at Granville, and then of the Church at Akron. Subsequently he was secretary of the Ohio [[Education]] Society, and afterwards acted as an agent to raise funds for Granville College, now Denison University. He died at Granville, July 24, 1864.
