In 1872 he was transferred to the [[California]] Conference, where, after serving two appointments, ill-health obliged him to retire from all stated work. During the last three years of his life he was very useful in the great revival work in Sacramento. He died in that city, Feb. 21, 1874. Mr. [[Blood]] was a faithful and greatly beloved pastor. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1874, p. 113. </p>
