He united with the Friends about the year 1655, and, as the "testimony:" about him says, "travelled up and down in many places in the service of the Lord." He is spoken of as being singularly gifted by the Holy Spirit, and an "able minister of the New Testament." He underwent the personal sufferings usual in that age with his associates. In order to provide for the wants of his family, he followed the seas as master of a ship. His last voyage was made to Barbadoes.
