<p> The mount on which the temple was built: once only is it thus designated. &nbsp;2 Chronicles 3:1 . It was the place previously occupied by the threshing floor of Araunah. Its site is now very generally believed to be on the [[S.E.]] of Jerusalem, where there is a large plain, called the 'temple area,' formed by stones being built into the sides of the rock. It is also called the 'mosque enclosure,' because the mosque of [[Omar]] is built thereon. </p>
