(According to Marquart, <i> Fund </i> ., 69, Shethar comes from שרשתי , with which the [[Persian]] <i> ''''' šiyātis ''''' </i> , "joy," is to be compared.) The word has never really been satisfactorily explained; it is presumably Persian. </p>
