<p> a [[Jewish]] writer, who died in London, July 11, 1865, is the author of History of the [[Jews]] of Spain and [[Portugal]] (London, 1849). From the [[Hebrew]] he translated a work of Menasseh ben-Israel: The Conciliator, a Reconcilement of the Apparent Contradictions in [[Holy]] [[Scripture]] (1842, 2 volumes). See Furst, Bibl.
